US activates sanctions against Iran's shipping company IRISL Group

The US sanctions announced half a year against the Iranian shipping company IRISL Group have entered into force. According to Washington, this company is transporting parts that help Iran create weapons of mass destruction. Now, representatives of the commercial and shipping sectors collaborating with Tehran should look for other options of delivering goods to the republic, said US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. According to TASS, the IRISL fleet has over a hundred vessels. In November 2018, Washington tightened sanctions against Iran. Over 700 banks, companies, and individuals have been blacklisted. The supply of Iranian oil to the world market was also limited.
